That’s what an editorial in the Annals of Internal Medicine said. After citing flawed study after flawed study where multivitamins were found to be ineffective at reducing death rates or mental decline with advancing age, and even citing published studies to say multivitamins are harmful and even kill people, these experts from the most prestigious medical centers in the world said: “we believe the case is closed – supplementing the diet of well-nourished adults with (most) mineral or vitamin supplements has no clear benefit and might even be harmful. These vitamins should not be used for chronic disease prevention. Enough is enough.”
Case closed?
Hardly.
The catch: “well nourished.”

Digestive tract problems are many and they may be difficult to sort out, even by well-trained doctors.
Some individuals may simultaneously suffer from bloating due to lactose (milk) intolerance, heartburn from thick sludgy bile, indigestion from lack of stomach acid caused by Helicobacter pylori infection and also have overgrowth of yeast (Candida albicans).
Symptoms of these maladies are often common and overlapping, making it even more difficult to determine their cause and cure. Different digestive tract maladies produce similar cross-over symptoms, such as heartburn, bloating, nausea, tummy pain, stomach fullness, etc.
The following is a checklist of digestive tract problems, their common symptoms and online links provided for checking up on natural home remedies.

Most multivitamins are poorly formulated, weakly dosed and unbalanced and are missing key nutrients to maintain health and there is no conceivable way they would meaningfully reduce disease-related mortality rates. The authors of the study said: “in most cases data are insufficient to draw any conclusion.” And ironically, if multivitamins were in fact found to reduce death rates, they would be declared drugs by the Food & Drug Administration!
The study concedes the multivitamins under analysis didn’t even raise blood levels of vitamin E, C, selenium or zinc. The only multivitamin data analyzed among women provided only five nutrients and authors of the report said “it could be argued there are no data on a true multivitamin for women.”

The headline above considers both the real world risk for prostate cancer in hard numbers versus the relative risk. The difference in mortality risk is 40-fold. Which one is it?
Steve Hickey, PhD, of Manchester, England, in his book entitled TARNISHED GOLD, co-authored with Hilary Roberts PhD, explains how researchers use overly large studies to find meaningless differences in health risks among human populations over a long period of time, differences that simply aren’t instructional to individuals.

Today’s health news headline emanating from Great Britain is that childhood asthma rates have soared for the past 50 years, doubling over that time. About 1.1 million British youngsters and an additional 4.2 million adults have asthma – with 1400 asthmatics dying annually.
This means something that began happening in the 1960s continues today with devastating consequences. It has to be environmentally induced, not naturally occurring. This means a long standing epidemic can exist within a modern human population and the medical community appears oblivious, even powerless to understand or stop it.

The one-way trip has been scheduled. The lift-off from Earth is scheduled for a date in 2022 with arrival on the planet Mars seven months later in 2023. Over 200,000 venturesome planet colonists have already applied for the 40 who will be selected and trained as the first interplanetary travelers. The precarious 210-Earth day trip will cost an anticipated $6 billion to prepare for, totally privately funded, which includes landing of pre-habitation supply pods and rovers that will set down a selected colonization site on the surface of Mars beginning in 2016.

Investigators at Tufts University display striking images of the human brain when it is deficient in vitamin B12. Brain scans show fluid-filled spaces at the center of a shrinking B-12 deficient brain – literally holes in the brain.
A prior study showed that high-dose B vitamins (800 mcg folic acid, 20 mg vitamin B6, 500 micrograms of vitamin B12) slows the rate of shrinkage in the human brain, and more demonstrably reduces (by 7 times) shrinkage of grey matter in the brain.
This study, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, is more striking because of the photographic images of a shrinking brain accompanied by mental tests which confirms loss of thinking ability as the brain shrinks in size.
Lack of absorption of dietary and supplemental vitamin B12 due to progressive inability to produce stomach acid is cited as a growing concern. Therefore, it may be that widespread H. pylori infection, which is prevalent in more than half of the US population, could be a parallel facto as H. pylori shuts down production of stomach acid.
Another concern is that the most often used anti-diabetic drug, metformin, depletes the body of vitamin B12. Metformin use has been associated with declining mental function. ©2013 Bill Sardi, Knowledge of Health, Inc.

Researchers at Columbia University have published a definitive study showing Americans with the highest blood concentrations of vitamins C and E, particularly dietary supplement users, have the lowest over-all mortality rates and death rates from cancer.

The false argument is that a good diet will provide all the nutrients a healthy body needs. But by that definition, unhealthy folks might need more, particularly senior Americans who produce less stomach acid and have difficulty absorbing vitamins and minerals from foods, anybody who take prescription drugs that deplete essential nutrients, or those who have increased need for nutrients such as smokers, pregnant mothers, athletes diabetics and individuals with unusual levels of stress.
Don’t forget the National Institutes of Health 5-A-Day fruits and vegetables recommendation fell flat on its face and the government didn’t have the guts to admit that in the open and later opted for a still-to-be-proven 9-13 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, which is largely unachievable (that is 3-4 servings of plant foods per meal!).
Another false argument asserts multivitamins that provide the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamins and minerals are sufficient to maintain health and avert deficiencies. But the RDA is only theoretically sufficient for totally healthy individuals who again have little stress, take no nutrient-depleting drugs, have no bad health habits, etc.

The Saisei Mirai Clinics in Kobe, Japan have taken their “cancer cure” online and graphically describe how it works, including published studies for the more scientific investigator. A key part of the therapy is injection of Gc-macrophage activating factor (Gc-MAF) which is gleaned from blood samples of healthy adults. Gc-MAF instructs white blood cells called macrophages to destroy cancerous cells as well as other foreign invaders like viruses.
The Saisei Mirai Clinics report they have successfully treated 345 consecutive patients with terminal metastatic (spreading) cancer. Some cases are reported at the website. They include the case of a 62-year old woman who was diagnosed with uterine cancer with spreading to the lymph nodes in 2011 and had undergone two prior chemotherapy sessions. After a battery of treatments to boost her own immune system, she achieved complete remission from cancer in 2013 (no tumor visible on CAT scan and normal tumor markers).
