Cancer researchers now recognize that molecular signals sent to healthy cells can convert them to tumor cells and that blockage of these “cancer signals” may put an abrupt halt to tumor growth.
Researchers now think they have found the precise molecular switch that “turns on” cancer, and this suggests an antidote to cancer may soon be at hand.
“Cancer research is on the verge of an important change in direction,” says a recent report. “The Warburg Effect returns to the cancer stage,” says another report.
The Warburg Effect — you mean that eight-decades-old research conducted by German biochemist Otto Warburg, for which he was awarded a Nobel Prize in 1931? This means cancer researchers may have actually lost ground in their war against cancer by largely dismissing Warburg’s observations first reported in 1926.

Pregnant women face an unusual and stressful challenge this year. How do they really know, with all of the outright false and misleading information distributed by public health agencies, that this year’s flu shot is safe?
An online poll reveals 414 of 552 women (75%) would not undergo flu vaccination against the H1N1 pandemic flu. Yet pregnant women are considered to be in a high-risk group for flu-related mortality.
Pregnant women are chatting on internet message boards, and the following reports, if true, are a bit horrifying. Here are some from an About.com site, monitored by Krissi Danielsson. (Numbers refer to the online posting.)

If you want assurance that you aren’t going to experience a sudden-death heart attack over the next few years, look not to your cholesterol numbers, but rather your calcium arterial score.
According to the latest study (see chart below), the chances of experiencinga mortal heart attack or stroke over the next 4 years is nearzero if the measure of calcium deposits in your coronary arteriesis zero. On the other hand, if your calcium coronary artery scoreis 1000 or more, you only have ~15% chance of surviving over thenext 4 years. If your calcium artery score is greater than 1000,your risk of dying from a sudden-death heart attack or mortalstroke is ~28 times higher than a people with no calcificationsin their coronary arteries.

The Daytona Beach News Journal cites the death of a 15-year-old New Smyrna Beach high school student, a confirmed swine-flu victim. The report says: “This student struggled with medical conditions his entire life. He was at higher risk for medical complications.” [Daytona Beach News Journal, October 8, 2009]
A Texas 8th-grader was diagnosed with the flu on Wednesday at the doctor’s office and denied the anti-viral drug Tamiflu because she wasn’t “high risk.” Her mother was advised to continue monitoring her daughter whose condition worsened with “crackling sounds in her lungs.” She was finally hospitalized on Saturday. This otherwise healthy child succumbed to the flu by Sunday morning. [WFAA-TV 11 news Sept 30, 2009]
The CDC also just released a report showing a striking mortality rate among pregnant women. Among 100 pregnant women hospitalized due to influenza infection, 28 died. This is an unprecedented 28% mortality rate! [Washington Post October 2, 2009] There is no way to confirm this alarming report since it is not cited in a published report that can be examined. A CDC transcript only says “28 pregnant women have died.” (Scare tactic by the CDC?) A published report does show 6 of 45 pregnant women infected with the pandemic H1N1 virus infection died during the period from April 15 to June 16, 2009. [Lancet 374; 451—57, 2009] However, no data is provided that vaccination prevented the women who survived from a fatal consequence.

The latest data on the status of vitamin C deficiency in the US population has just been published, and while it shows a significant reduction in the percentage of Americans who are truly deficient, particularly among low-income and ethnic groups, still ~7% of the US population exhibit signs of overt deficiency (called scurvy), an embarrassing fact for a country that has abundant food supply, fortifies foods and takes vitamin supplements.
Strikingly, the study found that a significantly lower percentage of African and Hispanic Americans exhibit vitamin C deficiency compared to White Americans.
The most arresting fact is that the spectrum of vitamin C deficiency/adequacy appears to follow along the same lines as the rates of disease and mortality in the population. Smokers and low-income groups who typically exhibit low blood serum concentrations of vitamin C also have the highest rates of disease and mortality.

A CNN report says American healthcare is a broken system. What took CNN so long to discover this?
This writer has been saying American healthcare is in a state of collapse, is no longer affordable and is operating in its own self-interest. For a free ebook copy of THE COLLAPSE OF CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE go to www.naturalhealthlibrarian.com
The article by CNN’s Jonathan Mann claims the American health care system is already broken and people are losing their lives because everybody doesn’t have equal access to quality care.
Equality in health care delivery sounds appealing, But what Mann misses is what Winston Churchill said long ago: “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery.” Now no one will have access to quality care under equal access plans.

It’s a stealth bacterium, undetectable by most modern laboratory methods.
It has infected more than 40% of dairy herds in the US and reduced their milk production by 4 percent. It’s now positively linked to inflammatory bowel disease (known as Crohn’s disease) that infects 500,000 Americans and is a probable cause of irritable bowel syndrome (chronic diarrhea, also known as colitis) that afflicts many more.
The germ involved is mycobacterium paratuberculosis (PARA-TB), a stealth bacterium that emanates from cattle herds and eludes detection and destruction.
Due to changes over many years in the feeding of cattle (they are now grain fed rather than grass fed), the digestive system of milk cows is less acidic and 40% or more of dairy herds are infected with PARA-TB, as well as many other forms of bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter. The overall bacteria load of raw milk is much higher than decades ago.
